Yesterday I sat my kids down and told them why I’d be gone today. I told them they better help their Dad while I was gone since he was being so nice to let me be all by myself for a day so I could get caught up with my life. After a minute Elle looked up at me incredulously and said, “Wait, you want to do that?” I smiled and told her, yep, that’s all I wanted for Christmas.

So here I sit, all by myself nestled all comfy and cozy here at Dave’s office. I have a bazillion things to get done and I know this time will only put a dent in it but I’m so thankful for a chance to get my thoughts straight and get some outlines done for family photo books I’ve wanted to do for the last few years. Man, for a person who doesn’t consider herself too organized, it’s amazing what a rush it gives me to get my pictures all in order.

I’m also finishing some editing so here are some recent shoots:

Lately I keep having these IWAN days. (That’s my new code word for “I Want A Newborn.”) Hmmm. I wonder why…

This is the cute new little family who won the sepphotography photoshoot in the NieNie Recovery Fund silent auction last Fall.

It was so fun to get to know them and their sweet new baby boy.

For a newborn I loved his little rolls.

This is my favorite:

Oh, and this one too:

Yep, IWAN.

And I got to take pictures of this cute family again:

This little girl was being the cutest little pistol I’ve ever seen (besides Lu of course since she always takes the cake in my book) and didn’t want anything to do with posing for pictures…

I loved these out-takes of trying to get her in there…

But for being such a pistol in the group shots boy oh boy she sure as heck didn’t have any trouble with the individual ones…I couldn’t decide between b&w and color for this one…And is this curl not the cutest thing ever? These boys have to hang tight like Dave and Max do in our family:

And this big sister was about as sweet as they come (next to Elle of course).

I love when you can just feel the thickness of how much siblings love each other. These girls were SO cute together.

Ok, now on to my photo books…I’m still trying to figure out this blurb thing…I’ll report back on what I figure out…

Also, I saw a cute blog called, meandmyinsanity (or something like that) — you might even know her — and she did the word of the year idea like you do. I love that idea.
