Ok, we need to back up a little bit here. I got a little ahead of myself on that last post since it really was a rush to see that book on line and hear that it’s on the shelves (and in fact, last night I SAW it on the shelves…weird).

But I really meant to say a little bit more about the co-author…my Mom. She is one amazing woman. I wrote a little about her a while ago here, but I didn’t write about the great author she is. She’s written like 25 books (most of them are co-authored with my Dad). My favorites are “I Didn’t Plan to Be a Witch” and “A Joyful Mother of Children.” If anyone wants some serious good motherhood inspiration click on Amazon and get yourself one of those beauties because boy howdy I promise you will love them (and plus I think they’re super cheap now…she wrote them quite a while ago). I re-read them whenever I’m overwhelmed curled up in the corner wanting to give up. And then I’m ready to face the world again.

My Mom has the most amazing “job” ever. I put it in parenthesis because seriously, I don’t think you can really call it a job. She and my Dad get to travel all over the world to give presentations on parenting for a business organization with chapters all over the place. She’s met and influenced people from Dubui to Perth to South Africa. (Click here for more info…)

But the best thing about my Mom is that she’s mine. And she has shown me that from the time I was tiny. Amidst the myriad of things pulling at her in life, she chose (and continues to choose) to put her children first. All nine of them. And I think every one of us think we’re her favorite. Because that’s how she treats us.

So, that’s the real reason you should buy “A Mother’s Book of Secrets.” Because she’ll inspire you like nobody’s business.

Love you Mom!

  6. I went out and got two books that same day. DB had just gotten the shipment in and had to get them from the back… :)Love it so far! My little girl is facinated with the pictures of Lucy!!! She saw the sad one of her and got quite concerned, until I showed her the happy pictures of her… now she goes through the book with a whole story about the baby who “was sad and then got happy.” When I can get the book from her, I am going to finish reading it. Great so far, though!

  7. I totally love “I didn’t plan to be a witch” It has been a favorite of mine for years and inspired me to throw a witch party every Halloween for my sisters. Anyway,I think it is really neat that you wrote a book with your mom and I can’t wait to read it. Congratulations!
