I’m still trying to scrape off jelly beans off our porch from all the festivities yesterday, and I have a gazillion pictures to sort through, but here’s something I’ve been thinking about in the meantime:
I always wonder when people say my kids look alike. Because to me they are all so very different, in personality and demeanor. It kind of freaks me out to be honest because they are so different and all need such different types of parenting. But I will say that through the years I have come to the conclusion that although many things are different, Dave and I do make girls in two models.
Model #1:
wispy…both in body and hair type, blonde, super competitive
Model #2:
spitfire, sparkly smile that dents dimples into those chunky cheeks, medium brown super lucious, thick hair with a little natural curl, chunky (as babies…Grace has totally grown out of this now)

Growing up I totally planned on having a whole gaggle of boys.
And here I am surrounded in every angle with girls.
Although I’d give up an organ to have a brother for Max, I couldn’t be more thankful to be surrounded by all these girls.
what a fun post… you definitely do have two different models of girls. We have the same thing in our house. Our two girls look pretty much exactly the same and our two boys look like exact replicas as well.
Fun to see two different sets of genes at work.

So fun! We, on the other hand, have five children who are all very different. My first three boys: Chandler got "the most". Thick, dark brown hair, huge chunky baby, and jet black eyes. Carter got "a little less". Average, light brown hair, average sized kid, and light brown eyes. And then Caden. Caden got "totally ripped off". Wispy, fine, blonde hair, teeny tiny kid (still), hazel eyes. We figured the fourth would just be albino. 🙂
Oh, and I'd give a limb to have a sister for my Makenna. All these brothers take pretty good care of her, though.

I am pregnant with #5 and will have opposite of you…4 boys and a daughter. My Emma is already at age 2 a born nurturer. She tucks her brothers in at night, she cleans up after them…such a little Mommy! They adore her and protect her. Your daughters are beautiful…both models of them!

My dad gave me your book(along with your mom's) to share with my sisters when I came down to AZ(Queen's Creek) to visit. The funny thing is, we have some similarities. My oldest is a boy, 11, and he has four younger sisters to train him up to be a great husband. I thought this post was intersting cuz our 4 girls have 2 models, especially in body size. 1 and 3 were chubby in toddlerhood, 2 and 4 have been taller and skinny. My 3rd daughter has been the one to have developmental delays like your Lucy, mentioned in your book. Just curious if she has a larger head? Our Elyse does and the CATscan said everything was ok. And her speech was tested ok, she's just slower compared to the older 3. We also have a Claire, our youngest. I'll probably be checking in here every so often!
Grace was always writing and talking about how much she and Lucy looked alike. She was VERY proud of that fact!
