Can you blame me?
It’s a tough job these days since those trees you see shed pollen and leaves like nobody’s business. They leave a thick yellow blanket covering the water every day.But our pool boy comes through and takes care of it for us.

Good job, Max!

p.s. I must mention also that our pool boy and I even have our own song. For some reason every single time we’re in the car together B.O.B.’s “Nothin’ on You” comes on. (He HAS to have the radio on at all times and I’d normally not like that song, but it’s stolen it’s way into my heart because of this.)

The second the lyrics begin to roll out of the speakers Max and I just look at each other and smile.

Oh man I love that kid.

  1. Your relationship with your kids just shines through in your writing. It's so beautiful. I am SO, SO jealous of your weather conditions.

  2. Do you think I could make my 11 year old be out pool girl? I doubt it..she would just get in and swim and not care that I had leaves and flowers floating in the pool. Ha Ha!

  3. Hi Shawni- I found your blog through a friend. You have changed the way I look at mothering, and I am so forever grateful for your blog! Your pictures, your posts, it is all so enlightening, thank you. Question- do you make photo books at the end of each year of your blog? I don't have a blog but love the idea of having pictures and journaling together, as ours are separate in my computer as of now. Do you have a separate journal for your own personal thoughts? Thanks again for your inspiration. 🙂
