I must sum up Mother’s Day before the week passes me by.

I was pampered. And as my family pampered me I felt my heart swell up with how blessed I feel to get to soak them in. I adore them, each and every one.

There you go. That’s the sum-up.

But I better stick in some pictures for further illustration:

While Dave made me the best omelet ever, I did hair (yes, in the kitchen, but hey, it works and you’ve got to go with what works when you have that many heads of hair to get done by EIGHT O’CLOCK A.M. for church).(Elle did a little photojournalism…)

I cleaned up Lu’s accident (great way to celebrate Mother’s Day I must add).(…and I like how Elle made that shot somehow look relatively modest.)

I marveled at how big/handsome my son is becoming (and at the fact that he let me take his picture quite happily…I think it was part of his Mother’s Day present to me).
I got showered with all sorts of home-made gifts:
And some serious coupons (I ADORE coupons for real and beg for them every year):
I got an awesome pedicure:(In Grace’s defense, we only had choices of thick, goopy fingernail polish, or even more thick, goopy stuff…we need to invest in some new choices.)

I got my feet and back and head rubbed galore.

I worked on this card for my Mom:
Dave and the kids made a delicious dinner (along with a little bit of help from me).

I indulged myself and made this texas sheet cake that I crave every, single day. (I like to make desserts myself…none of that serving it to me on a china plate thing…)

Speaking of chocolate, Max bought me some (with his very hard-to-come-by money that can’t seem to stay in his pocket for more than a day so it meant a lot…thanks Max!)

We went to the park.

The kids showed me all kinds of tricks:It was a good day.

Here’s the guy who made it all possible: Not just Mother’s Day itself but the fact that I am a Mother. He gave me my babies. And he’s the best partner I could ever ask for in raising them. That makes me want to just hold him tight forever and ever. I am blessed.

  5. This is a really sweet post. I don't usually comment. But I laughed so hard at the pedicure picture – I HAD to say something! Your family is so inspiring. Your children beautiful as can be. And your heart – so good. It's a privilege to glimpse into your life. Saydi is a good friend of mine from Jerusalem and I've met Saren through Power of Moms. I reviewed Secrets last year for Meridian magazine – it was absolutely delightful. Just wanted to say thanks for sharing with the world. We're better because of you. You deserved to be pampered!

  7. Love love the pedi!! Was wondering if you could tell me what you use to curl your daugthers hair. It looks like a curling iron, but can not tell. Also a post by Jessica of where you find cute clothes. I live out in the middle of no-where CA and shop mostly by internet and that really can be a hit and miss! Have a great day! Gina:)

Tell me more about the card that your big girl worked on. What is that all about. I'm so interested. It is the most amazing looking thing.
