I’m a firm believer that gratitude equals happiness (I know…sometimes I sound like a broken record on that, but seriously, don’t you agree?).

So I have to cram in at least one more thankful day before the real-deal Thanksgiving day tomorrow.

I’m so, so, so grateful that this man is the father of my children:
…and that he gave me five of them.
I’m thankful beyond what I can say here that he is mine…and that he always says “sorry” first, even when it’s so not his fault.

I’m so grateful that we have three-and-a-half more years before this girl becomes a teenager:

I’m grateful my kids have good friends.

I’m SO grateful soccer season is OVER. Sorry if that sounds bad, but hallelujah! Not that I didn’t adore watching Grace play, I LOVED it, but man alive that soccer field is far away.
She had such a fun season.

I’m grateful Elle got to sub in a few times this last season too with her old team.
(Tennis lessons won out over soccer this season for her.)

I’m grateful for how kids have to try to stick their tongue through that teeny little hole a lost tooth leaves when they smile:
I’m grateful that Claire made this on her own accord the other day…(but quit in frustration when Lucy added her own “continents” on the bottom right).
…and that maybe that means my fascination with the world and dreaming of traveling to every place on it is sinking in to my children.

I’m grateful for the time I spent in England as a freshman in high school…even though at that time I thought it was the very worst thing that could have ever happened to me. In hindsight I thank my lucky stars every day for how those six months helped shape me…

…and that I made a couple good friends like Sarah (below) who works for British Airways and visits now and then.
I’m grateful for “Mommy Dates” and “Daddy Dates” and that Dave took Claire on a wing-dinger of a date last weekend:

I’m grateful for the stake Primary presidency I got to work with for a year (and for the other one I worked with the year before that)…and that they all took me out to lunch when I got released.

I’m grateful for Young Women and that these Beehives, on their own accord, asked for help “heart attacking” their new leaders’ front doors.

I’m grateful for Lucy’s preschool, and for how much it helps her blossom. I’m grateful that her teacher came for a “home visit” instead of a parent/teacher conference and that Lucy was in heaven with that fact.

I’m so grateful that Lucy can see. And that at least for now she takes soaking in the world around her very seriously.

But most of all I am thankful to know that I am a daughter of God. And that he cares about me and my family. I’m so thankful for the gospel of Jesus Christ, and for the power of prayer. I’m so thankful to know that “His hand is always stretched out” to help me through trials (as it says in my favorite scripture in Isaiah 40:10,13).

Happy Thanksgiving!
