I’m so grateful that this is my family… …fresh from gymnastics and dinner (with a really awful white-balance setting…sorry) Oh how I love them all.

  1. Love the little things in life… such a great example of Praising God for the time you get to just be with your family. This is our last year before our oldest heads off to college and we find ourselves enjoying the "little things" in life a lot more. Thanks for sharing!

  2. wow – I am so impressed by your kids helping out and enjoying themselves while doing it! I need to read all your posts on having kids take responsibility around the house because not only do they not do any of those things, they are truly sniping and fighting constantly and I know its time to regroup and get down to basics here at our house.

  3. I just love this! Your family is such a joy to see. Love the dancing, helping out, and even your husband getting into it as he walked by! I pray you all have a blessed week!

  4. That shows how fun a Mom you are. And seriously…such a gift you're giving them to learn how to help. My Mom did everything for us and it was really to our disadvantage even though she saw it as being a really good thing. Love it.

  7. I love it…I read your blog all the time and this video is great…it gave me that feeling of when you were in elementary school and you ran into your teacher at the store… it was CRAZY thinking that they didnt live at the school…(please tell me you know what I'm talking about)it's nice to see your family alive and happy…it was like christmas morning for me…haha. 9. Hi Shawni

I recently found your blog (my mom recommended a few of your parents' helpful parenting books and I looked them up online). I also love photography and that is why your blog is so enjoyable- authentic beautiful photographs (and your sweet family stories).

This video makes me feel happy- it inspired me to turn on the music and dance in the kitchen with the people I am thankful for.

    Thank you,
    Rebecca

  10. I love this! Did they all do this on their own initiative, or did you have to turn into Cruella DeVil, like me, to get them to help? I need to see your job chart! And tonight, I'm turning on the tunes.

  11. How cute is that….hope my kids are that happy to help out and love each other that much when they are bigger. Thanks for your books and your blog… can't wait to hear you at TOFW in 2 days.

  12. I loved watching this Shawni…love that Max was loading the dishwasher and loved the little dance Dave did walking by…How cute is Elle..and Lucy…and Claire…and Grace! What a cute family you have!

  13. love it. I, too, wonder what song that is and is it a video playing? Would love to know your after dinner assignments, too. Do they rotate? Have certain nights that one wipes the table and the other puts leftovers in the container or do they each always have that job? I need more after dinner help.
