Back at our house:
The kids give their gifts to each other on Christmas Eve. And I know I sound like a broken record when I say this, but it’s my favorite part of Christmas. But if you look at these pictures you’ll see why.The air turns thick and soft with their love for each other.
And that’s about the best thing in the world to watch when you’re the mom.
They get so antsy with excitement when they get to give that gift they worked hard for and chose themselves.

And of course it’s not Christmas Eve without the nativity:…and the new Christmas P.J.s…
…and “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas” read with enthusiasm,
Before snuggling up in their beds with visions of sugarplums dancing in their heads.

  3. It really touched me about how excited your children get when they give them their present.

Do they do extra chores to earn the money for the pressies or just save it from their pocket money? (Allowance)

  4. I am a follower of your blog, but never really comment. This time, I wanted to say thanks for sharing your beautiful family with us. I enjoy seeing such a happy family and the photo of the nativity scene with your hubby as the donkey made me laugh out loud 🙂 I wish you and your loved ones a wonderful new year with only good things coming your way!

  5. We use to do the nativity too…I have some really funny pics! I should share them some time!

I love how excited the siblings get to give to each other! I hope they are always that close!

  6. I have been following for awhile. Your posts make me smile. This year I actually followed your lead and decided to have the kids do their sibling gifts on Christmas Eve. We haven't been good at doing these gifts before. This year I knew I wanted it to be different. My two little ones were so excited to buy their treasures with their hard earned money. My six year old used his tooth fairy money to buy his gifts!

Christmas Eve was good! We will continue to do this-it still needs some work, we started late–the bigger kids need some help getting into the spirit of it. This is my fault.

However, due to your idea we began a new tradition that I think will help our family.

    Thanks!
