It makes me wonder:

Why did I bother to slave away installing those wing-dinger beauty hooks up there?

I also wonder why we haven’t put that calendar to better use lately…hmmm.

  1. yes, I agree with Marlowe…snow gear could make it a far bigger heap. Think positive…it looks like more than half of the crew uses their hook! 🙂

I was wondering about the calendar too…hehe! You inspire! First day as a mama of three today on my own. We had a baby a week ago and husband went back to work. Anxious…trying to think of how you would handle things 🙂

  2. I agree about the snow gear–I LOVE packing that stuff away every spring.

We finally bought two wardrobes with double doors and my husband coverted them to divided double lockers with hooks and shelves inside. I couldn't take the mess anymore! But alas, I still have to make them actually hang their things inside them!

  3. LOL! We usually have our hooks in the garage, even when living in Utah. We are now in Georgia and there are some BIG spiders that live out there, so we have moved inside. I won't even start on that. 🙂 It does look like some of the kids are using them and that is saying something. Good luck! 🙂

  4. Oh how I wish mine looked like that! We have the mud and snow that gets tracked in, plus the snow pants, boots, hats and gloves times four + whatever friends might be here. Recently it has been too warm here in Alaska (40s) so everything was muddy and slushy last week. I have to tell the kids "Don't rub up against the car!" because is is a mucky sloppy mess. It has cooled down, and now we have pretty white snow again! Thank goodness! (Seriously–the FIRST thing I notice when I travel to the lower 48 is how clean all of the cars are!!)

  5. What in the world….you wear coats in the desert 🙂 I am shocked. LOL.

Don't feel bad about your calendar, I still have October 2010 hanging up on my wall. I am way behind 🙂 Maybe I'll get around to changing it before October 2011 comes around.

Hope you all have a great weekend.

  6. I'm so happy to see yours looks like my entryway. Most people dream of their fantasy kitchen maybe a living/family room. I dream of my future mudroom ( we've never had one but I want/need one) My kids never hang their coats in the closet right by the door they just toss them in the floor or the door knob well my mom and I made a coatrack last week and put it up, and just like magic the kids love putting their coats on it. They love seeing their special handpicked knob for their coat. I hope it lasts. Good luck.

  7. Ha! I read your blog all the time and haven't written anything to you yet, but I couldn't resist on this one! This is the exact picture I get when I walk in from my garage too! I have often asked the same questions as you. Some things will just remain mysteries, I guess. I should also send you a picture of our shoe shelf with shoes piled in front of it! But I bet when the kids are grown, we will miss piles of stuff on the floor. We might even "miss the hook" sometimes, just to bring back old memories. well, maybe…
