Ok, so this is the time of year when it sneaks up on me:

That moment when all the things swirling around in my jumbled brain come to a screeching halt when I realize that, once again, I have not thought far enough in advance to do something really creative with my children for their end-of-the-year-teacher-appreciation gifts.

I LOVE our teachers. They are amazing. They have changed the lives of my children. And here we are with chop liver to thank them for it.

Each year my lack of planning and creativity lands our teachers with a gift certificate of some sort, for which I’m sure they are very grateful. (That’s what I’d want.) But it leaves my children out of the loop of thankfulness, and they are the ones I want to realize how darn lucky they are to have these people give them the greatest gift ever: knowledge they will carry through the rest of their lives (I know, dramatic, but don’t you think that’s totally true?).

Soooooo…I went back to this post from last year where everyone left SUCH great ideas in the comments. With help from there I figured out some good things we’re gonna whip together in our couple remaining days of school.

But I know there are people out there who still have time for something really creative. (Some crazy school districts drag school out a lot longer than we do here:) And for you here’s help:

I happen to have a sister-in-law (who I adore) who has started a great jewelry/hair accessory business with her friend. And I dare say there are a bunch of beauties that they make that would sure make some wing-dinger teacher gifts. You could get your kids involved designing something and have them write a really nice note to go with it so they’re really involved.

Or you can just forget that this is even a post about teacher gifts and just enter the give-away to win something pretty for yourself (I mean, you got those crazy kids of yours through the school year, right? :). Or for your mother-in-law. Or what about a gift for your favorite graduate? Maybe your friends’ nephew’s cousin’s newborn baby girl may need something snazzy to jazz up her wardrobe. Whatever it’s for, you/they will love this stuff.

This is what they are giving away…
1) This necklace:It is very similar to the one my cousin made for me that has been around my neck for almost two years. It has my kids’ names on it and I love it. The winner will just tell them what names he/she wants on the silver discs and voila, there’s a personalized custom necklace coming your way.

2) These beautiful hair pieces will all be won together in a package deal:Who wouldn’t die for those?

and 3) This necklace:
…which makes me laugh because I know a whole bunch of people who would wear that one with pride.

So leave a comment to win one of these beauties. And hey, if you want another chance to win, “Like” their Facebook page (right here) and come back to enter another comment. And one more way to enter: check out their blog (click here) and come back and write about something you love there (there’s lots to choose from).

I’ll announce a winner on Thursday morning to help celebrate the last day of school here in the desert.

Happy browsing!

This give-away is now closed. Please click here to see the winners. Thanks for the nice comments!!

  1. Oh I've been wanting a name necklace!!! And I love the hair clips. I'm a teacher and my favorite gift is always gift cards. Just pack it in a cute jar or something if you want it cuter. One creative gift I loved too was a summer fun thing. It was a beach towel, sunscreen, a fun water bottle and a magazine. How fun is that!

  2. Just checked out the blog….as a photographer, I would be using those hair accessories in EVERY shot! lol Too cute – seriously. Shelley

  3. Umm my favorite thing about the blog is I found out they are in Utah! They had a party in march and I missed it. I love the big floral belts. I need that for my daughter!

  4. Fun stuff! I checked out the blog and I love the anniversary bracelet with representation for each kid, grandkids, etc. For myself, I would love the necklace with my kids' names on discs. Thanks for the chance to win.

  5. The names necklace is adorable! I don't have facebook, and I am a new follower to you, but I do LIKE them! 🙂 My daughter is only 9 months old, but I have to say, I am so excited to give teachers' gifts. I was a teacher for six years, and they really do make your year!

  6. Looks like I was the first follower on their blog. That in and of iself means I should win!!! Love that the hair pieces are small enough that tweens can wear them too and not have that baby girl look. Great job!

  13. My mother's school has a library gift program. The children could donate money in their teacher's name (in lieu of a gift) and then the librarian would by books with the money. On the inside of the book their would dedicate the book to the teacher from the student. They always made a big deal about it when the class went to the library at the end of the year, because the teacher's really wanted to encourage their students to do it instead of giving gifts. While gifts are nice, 30 gifts every year can get a bit much. My mother always preferred the library books.

  14. I went to their super cute website and love so many of the items. But I think I would NEED the cute 3flower with bling hair piece. Too cute!

  26. I've been wanting one of those name necklaces! Love it!!!!

I am a teacher and I love getting gift cards. My favorite this year was a Starbucks card, because I rarely treat myself to their drinks, but I love them! Just put it into a heartfelt card or note and it will mean a ton! I gave my kid's teachers cute laminated lunch totes and put their favorite snacks and drinks inside. It was a super easy gift.

Here's a link I just found the other day and I wished I would have found it sooner… the tags are printable and adorable!! http://domesticatedlady.com/2010/smore-teacher-appreciation-idea-and-free-printable/

  30. I am sure which I like more! The necklace with the discs with each child's name, or the one with the initial and the pearl! Even without the give away, I will be wearing some of this jewelry sometime in the future. I live that it is feminine; yet looks like it can keep up with my life!

  31. i give my boys' teachers rose bushes/flowers every year with a note and tied up with a bow. my oldest son will be in 4th grade, and his kindergarten teacher told me she still thinks of him when she sees her rose bush in her yard.
