…so I’m just sharing snippets when I can because I want to hold on to things and feelings before they slip away. Elle and Max tried out for high school tennis and volleyball respectively. Needless to say, our quote to memorize has been this: Elle was so nervous. She said she was shaking like a leaf in the first few tournaments for tryouts. I’m so proud of her because she made the Varsity team. Go Elle! Her first tournament is this afternoon and I can’t wait. I love watching tennis with all my heart. Max was mad on this day because he was having a bad hair day after practice. I’m sure that’s the reason why he’s grimacing. It surely couldn’t be that he’s bugged at his mother for taking too many pictures. 🙂 This kid has been practicing his little guts out because he made “swing” which means he practices with Varsity and plays JV. The best of both worlds as far as we’re concerned. He is loving every second of it but man alive, he’s one busy boy practicing for four plus hours after school every day and then staying up to finish homework and then doing it all over again the next day. We’re all so excited for his first game tomorrow. I am in love with high school sports. I’m namely in love with two of their tallest players:) Have I mentioned how much I love teenagers? Yes, they’re grumpy and don’t listen and sullen at times, but those big smiles and lanky hugs make it all worth it a hundred times over.

Good to hear, because I'm scared to death to have older kids!
I love my teenagers too. Hope they both have a wonderful season with sports this spring. Enjoy watching them and cheer cheer cheer.
i'm nervous too! I have a 9yr old who I dread to think what her moods could be like in a few years. But then there is the exciting stuff too.. dances, sports, grad dress shopping etc!!!
I have two teens (and two younger). Yes, they are fun! BUT…they are expensive! Braces, car insurance for new drivers, cell phones, etc. Love them though!

I feel the same way sometimes (that my life isn't conducive to blogging), and I don't even have any children!
When people post negative things about teenagers or their fears of their own becoming teenagers, it makes me sad. I have loved every stage my kids have gone through, but I really love having teenagers! I have two, soon to be three and I love seeing the people they are becoming. I love having deeper conversations and hearing their vision of the world.
