Whoa!  Things are a little bit nutty around here these days.  Last week we decided to rip the band-aid off and just move already!

So I’m just saying a quick hello from the midst of dust and moving boxes and “not-being-able-to-find-anything-we-need-when-we-need-it” mode.
We haven’t moved for over twelve years so it’s been bitter/sweet to go through all the stuff that fills up a home and makes uncountable memories in that amount of time. It’s made me cry a couple times.  It doesn’t help that my kids have been on a streak of watching old home movies.  There have been a lot of years of loving and growing and learning in that home of ours that we have loved so much.
So weird to read scriptures this morning with all the echoing going on in here from lack of furniture and “stuff” in this home, and weird to send the kids off to school from the dirt in our front yard, but I do think we’re sure going to like it here!
Hopefully I’ll get back here to blogging soon, I miss this and you dear blog readers/friends out there in cyberspace 🙂
Love,
Shawni

  1. Good luck with everything! Take your time. Moving can be so stressful and blogging is last on priorities. Cant wait to see photos though when the house is complete!

  2. I know how you feel. I'm looking at retiring and downsizing waaaaaaay down. What do you give up and what do you keep when you don't have room for it all. We'll all do fine. It's just the process that hard. Living is the same. I'll be thinking about you as I cry my way through memories too.

  3. Hey Shawni! Hubby and I are also thinking of moving….to Gilbert! We have 2 kids with HF autism and are trying to find out about resources in the area. I'd love to pick you brain sometime….once you are settled in, of course! Saren has my email.
Can't wait to see pictures of your new house all moved in! I'm sure it's beautiful!
We moved a lot when I was a kid, and I have to say that it's always bittersweet, but it seems to get a little better with each move. Good luck with your big adventure!

  4. Been missing you, too, but I'm so excited you guys are finally in your new home. I can't wait to see pictures when you're all settled in because it's been so much fun reading about the progress on the new house for the past couple of years.

    Your paralyzed friend,
    Heather 🙂

  5. Hi Shawni! I'm so happy to hear all is well! I was worried, and I was missing your posts… I hope your new house becomes a home for y'all real soon! Cant wait to see the pics 🙂 xo
