When my sister was in town we snuck each of my girls out for dates.  (Max had waaaayyy too much volleyball and school work and wasn’t as into the “date” idea 🙂

I got to sneak off with these two to the desert botanical gardens…

…where we got to see the gorgeousness of God’s art:
…meet the creativity of man’s art:
There was a spectacular Dale Chihuly exhibit there mixed right in with the cacti and gorgeous desert landscape.
Chihuly does some pretty outstanding glass art…for night images of his stuff click HERE and HERE…pretty cool.

It was cool to see those beautiful pieces of art mingle in with God’s creations.

But no art can ever hold a candle to this:

 And this:

And this:

I’m so grateful for creative minds.

It was all a feast for the eyes.

And fun to share it with some of my favorite girls 🙂

This world of ours is sure a beautiful place!!

  1. These pictures are stunning! I adore the desert botanical gardens. The last time I was there, though, I was almost 9 months pregnant and it was June. I don't recommend going then 🙂

  2. Hi Shawni,

I'd be very interested to hear your ideas for portion control and maintaining a healthy balance with food? I know it's something you are quite mindful of with Lucy and the rest of the family.

  3. I love Chihuly. There is a fabulous permanent display at the Indianapolis Children's Museum. My kids are fascinated every time they see it. I love seeing his art incorporated into nature. Gorgeous! Thanks for sharing!

  4. Oh my gosh, how have we missed this in the past? How far away is it from you! Simply spectacular! Thanks for sharing this gorgeous stuff!

  5. So glad you posted this. I meant to go to this when I heard it was back, and now it only has a couple weeks left! Last time the glass exhibit was there I went to it on my due date with my first baby (5 years ago). I had to stop a lot to rest. I think I'd enjoy it so much more now. 🙂
And your photos are amazing. You have a great way of capturing things.
