Ever since my parents introduced her to Lagoon, Grace has been drooling over going with the whole family.
Every summer she begs.
Grace is one heck of a persistent girl I tell you.

So this year we incorporated Lagoon into our road trip.  We stayed with our great cousins after picking up Elle from tennis camp, and all went together.

To say we were excited was an understatement.  I may have been even more excited than my kids.  I LOVE roller coasters and hadn’t been to Lagoon since high school.

We made the mistake of riding the ancient white roller coaster first.  Lucy did NOT like that thing.  So she was kind of out for the rest of the “scary” rides.  But that’s ok.  There are a lot of rides at Lagoon 🙂

Josh came with us too.  He was Lucy’s partner on this ride:

Elle took pictures of her.  These may be my favorites from the day:

I guess she didn’t like that one either 🙂

Julie (my sis-in-law) had one who didn’t want to do the scary stuff either so we rotated between the kid’s area and the big stuff.

These cousins were purely delighted both to be together and to get to ride thrill rides.

This was Lucy’s favorite ride:

This was one of my favs:

And this one too…

Except that one of my flip flops flew out and it took a while for the guys in charge to find that thing.

But THIS is the piece de resistance:

Oh man, I haven’t been on that thing since high school, but I will tell you it’s still got it going on.

I didn’t get a pic. of my other high school favorite: Tidal Wave.

When you’re at Lagoon with your sweetheart you have to walk like this:

We stayed until the golden hour.

Grace and Claire could have probably stayed all night long, and I would have stayed with them if it wasn’t for lots of kids (and husbands) getting whiney and needing to rest their feet.

We were so grateful to spend some time with our cousins there in Utah.  Boy oh boy we love them.

  1. Oh man. The last time I was at Lagoon with my cousins, I kept thinking that I was going to fall out of the roller coasters, so the entire time I kept pushing down on the bar to make it tighter. By the next day, I had a bruise on my arm 🙂

  2. I'm absolutely with Lucy on this one, I went on a rollercoaster once and never again! That said, her favourite would terrify me too… my favourites are the carousels with the pretty painted horses, and the teacups. Looks like you had a lot of fun 🙂

  4. Last time I went to lagoon I threw up 3 times. I have major motion sickness now that I've gotten older, I even took a pill to help and it didn't so I will never go back, but it looks like you guys had fun!
