**First of all, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO MAX AND ABBY! I cannot believe one year ago we were waking up on the grand morning of that wedding celebration. So happy those two found each other!

And second of all, sorry if you follow my Instagram story and saw some of this before, but I just have to pause for a minute in the midst all the Christmas mayhem because MY WHOLE FAMILY IS HERE.

ALL of them.

And it’s just about to burst my heart wide open from gladness I have to say.

First came Grace fresh from her red-eye from Honolulu. Oh gosh was I ever excited to get that girl of mine in my arms!

And so excited to share her with my dad for a minute (he was leaving as she was coming).

She surprised her sisters and that was pretty fun. First Claire at school:

Best friends reunited.

Then Lucy. She came a couple minutes behind me on the bike. Lucy came out a little miserable since she was stressed out about some of her classes she was going to miss when she left for Wisconsin for some doctor appointments. Then Grace came around the corner and said, “Is that Lucy??” And to that, I wish I could have captured that cloudy face transform lickety-split into complete beaming. She was SO happy!

Claire was supposed to come with Grace but they had a bike malfunction so she and Bo were waiting at the corner when we got there:

Aw!

Max and Abby were next to arrive, and once again, I was slow on the recording factor, but here’s a little when they pulled in late one evening, Lucy rejuvenated after so much homework to see those gems she loves so much:

Elle stayed for her friend’s graduation (and to be with her fiance a little longer) and came on the red-eye the morning after Max and Abby arrived. I didn’t get this grand reunion but boy it was a good one.

(Bo about wagged her tail right off in jubilation with each new arrival, she sure knows her people!)

Oh if there were words to describe having all these pieces of my heart reunited hanging out in the kitchen:

And Abby was unpacking or something or other for that one so here we go with that other daughter I claim:

Oh there’s been a bunch of joy around these parts lately.

And there was one more surprise:

Yep, Dave and Lar had that little trick up their sleeves…had to get him here with us to hang for at least a little this Christmas season (he’ll head to do Christmas with his family in a few days) since we’re claiming him too 🙂

I always had stars in my eyes about having seven kids and would you look at that up there. Seven of the best.

I just look around and can’t believe how lucky we are to have them all here right now.

It’s been a little nutty with Claire and Lucy still in school, in finals in fact, no one has had much sleep, since everyone just wants to stay up all night and hang and be together, but as of today by 10:30 it’s full-on party time.

Gosh, it’s hard to let kids go, but the missing makes it worth it a hundred times over when you get them back all together.
