We got some pretty special news a few months back that I’ve been waiting for permission to share…
These screenshots can’t quite contain all the excitement that was jumping out of our phones about that new baby on the way.
Here’s a better shot of the two new proud parents-of-two-to-be.
Yep, MURPHY GETS A LITTLE SISTER in March and we are all pretty over-the-moon about that.
Of course, that little baby on the way is much bigger now than in that first ultrasound photo. So it’s pretty fun that Grace works at a place that performs ultrasounds for moms-to-be. First of all because she loves it, but second because we get to see that baby as part of Grace’s training.

Dave and I go in with Abby and Grace (and Murph) over Fall Break and have Grace show us that little peanut swimming around in there.

How exciting! Congrats to the family on this joyous news. Wishing Abby a smooth and healthy pregnancy and delivery.
Also, it may seem small to some, but the respect you’ve shown your daughter in law by waiting to share the news on her timeline is so crucial to a healthy relationship and I think should be commended. I’m sure she appreciates your trustworthiness, and you’re setting a wonderful example for your kids as they gain new families by marriage. In fact, navigating relationships with in-laws (which now include your kids’ spouses) would be a great topic for the podcast you do with your sisters!
Oooh that’s a great topic to cover. And navigating relationship as the in-law with your spouse’s siblings would be interesting, too!

Grace looks so cute in the picture, doing an ultrasound! What is that field called? Ultrasound nurse or is that a lab tech? Is Grace interested in that field of health care? And how fun that you will be a grandma again!!
How did Lucy do with this new baby news? I remember you saying once that because of some of her issues, babies kind of aren’t her thing. I’m guessing Miss Lucy will be so busy planning her senior year of school and making college decisions that she won’t have time to be uncomfortable.
Curious about this too! I’m sure this is already a challenging time for her with the post-high school decision looming, so I do hope it’s not been too hard on her. Hopefully her sweet bond with little miss Murphy has shown her how wonderful it can be!
