So, I’m sure I’ve said this before, but when you serve as mission presidents presiding over hundreds of missionaries you don’t come home. You stay put for the whole three years in your assigned mission, wherever it is in the world. EXCEPT for a few things, including the birth of new babies and weddings.
And man, it’s a glorious thing to see those people you love for a little snippet!
I talked about how Dave’s sister came home from Africa for her daughter’s baby arrival. That felt so good to be reunited with her even for just a day. But to make the deal even sweeter?? One of my best friends (who was called to serve the same time as Dave’s sister) came home from Iowa for her daughters babies grand arrival. Yes, two of them, she had twins! And the timing aligned so perfectly that they were all in Utah right when I was heading up to go to a wedding for our good family friends.
The Reunion
SO WE GOT TO MEET THOSE BABIES! And I got to reunite with my dear friend Nichole. And her daughter who I adore as well. And my other friends were there too since they came up with me for a day and a half (more on that soon).
Pictures never do justice to tiny brand new babies, but believe me, these ones are just so tiny and perfect. One is still having a little oxygen as he grows stronger, but is doing better every day. And Kiley is an incredible mother just going on with life and her other two “babies” just a little older.

Oh it was so fun to sit and talk and catch up in that little window of time we got together. How I love them all. And how excited I am for this beautiful family now doubled in kid-size.
The Wedding
I got to see Nichole at the wedding too, along with other friends we love so much.

Parents of the bride (our good family friends from college we MISS who we haven’t been able to see in so long!):

Grace was one of the bridesmaids:

And LOOK how beautiful this wedding was!

So fun to have Mike in the DJ spot again (he was the DJ for Elle and Carson’s 80’s wedding sealing celebration, and he’s pretty awesome!)

Nothing quite like reunions with old friends.

…and also your lovely daughter, your parents, and her boyfriend too:)

I got to stay up there with friends to drink in Fall, more about that soon. For now, hooray for weddings and reunions!! And newborn babies straight from Heaven!
