Parenting adult children is an interesting journey. We are still the parents, but somehow we have to
learn to move from coaching on the sidelines up to the bleachers. We have to learn to trust
their decisions in their continually shifting locus of control in a whole new way.
It’s so hard to let them go, but hopefully we have given them the tools to spread their wings and fly.
In letting them go, we are giving them the gift of developing their own sense of self.
