In church on Sunday we talked about President Nelson’s conference talk. At one point he said “I pray we will not miss the majesty of this moment” and I’m so grateful our teacher pointed that out.
Because how often, in the midst of the commotion of life, do we do just that? We are running around too fast that we forget to look up. To take in. To be astonished at all the good. To remember to look for God in it all.
I’m so grateful for Fall because it helps me recognize the moments of majesty better than most other things. There is so much of God filling the world around us and the people who surround us.
And I got to experience that one morning on the cusp of Fall Break with my sisters in Rock Canyon in Provo, Utah.
I call this post “Fall Foliage Jackpot” but maybe this one is more about the rocks…
Can you even believe that majesty??
Those rocks when you enter that canyon are breathtaking.
But ok, there were lots of leaves too:)
This hike was filled with glory from every angle. From the initial awe walking into those giant rocks…
To the good conversations en route to the top.
To yes, the bounty of gorgeous leaves.
To the satisfaction of working so hard to push up that mountain (boy it was hard for this desert girl!)
But we made it to the tippy-top.
And reveled in all the glory up there for a good while, eating chocolate chip cookies, of course.
We also did my favorite five-minute meditation at the top. And there’s something with that meditation that helps you feel the majesty of all this goodness in life.
Then we headed back down that mountain, our hearts filled right up.
…With all that majesty we got to feel with all five senses.
Now that we’re home from Fall break I’m still looking for that majesty all around me.
Whether I’m on that gorgeous mountain-top or helping Lucy with college applications or cleaning up a mess, there is majesty in all of it. There is God in all of it. Because we find what we’re looking for. May we all find the good today in all that surrounds us.
XOXO
Hello. I’m wondering what happened to your podcast? It’s been a while since there have been any new episodes!
We are struggling with timing this year, but more is coming out soon! Thanks for being patient with us!

They changed the garments! Maybe you will stop getting hassled about dress code for the women in the family?
Ha! Thanks for thinking of me, Kristine!
