This family weekend in Utah was full of endings and beginnings—from moving Lucy out of her first year of college, soaking up grandbaby time, and celebrating a wedding.
And all the while, Utah put on a beauty show.

I mean, wow.
Moving Lucy Out of her Dorm
I already wrote the part about moving Lucy out of her dorm. And I’m still trying to wrap my heart around that one!
It was so fun for Dave and I to have a little one-on-one time with Lucy as she tries to figure out her next step in life. And talks trash talk during games.

Spending Time With Kids and Grandbabies

I got to take care of these two one afternoon. We went to the library and as you can tell, I cannot get enough of them.

I mean…

Triple Date in Palo Alto
Where were our other Utah girls, you may ask? Well, they were visiting Elle and Carson in Palo Alto with their boyfriends.
Man alive, I do get so happy to see my kids spending time together.

Especially when they thought to use part of that time to take this funny picture on a tree branch. HA!

If you know you know, but it’s paying homage to our cheesy family picture my dad conjured up years ago on a similar tree branch.
Oh yeah.
Our Nephew’s Wedding
We got to gather with family in Utah to celebrate the wedding of these two: my nephew and his beautiful new bride.

We got to hang with all these people: eight of the nine kids in Dave’s family were there.

Oh I love them!
And Claire and Grace were back from Palo Alto by then:

Gosh I love this family!

Lucy and I ran down to Provo to situate some things for possible summer school (God in the details again):

And back to the wedding dinner:

And reception dance party:

Utah’s Spring Beauty
It would be disrespectful of me not to pay my respects for the beauty of Utah. I couldn’t handle it and poor Dave had to put up with me trying to capture it.
Yes, after the unseasonably warm winter, all the blossoms were coming out. Then it got chilly and SNOWED up in the mountains where we were.

It’s a strange and beautiful thing, this stage of life—letting go in so many ways, while also gathering in more than ever before.
