Just sneaking this in in the nick of time before the day is done. Because it is Good Friday and it is Easter weekend.
I have not done any preparation for Easter this year. Our traditional yellow “Holy Week” events pages are hanging empty above our fireplace (there has been a lot going on over here!). But in some ways I feel as if I am “hearing Him” more than ever, and that, amidst the many things going on, He is hearing me.
I am trying to pick up the pieces and help my family feel the spirit of this celebration of the miraculous. The wonderful. The seemingly unbelievable. The beauty of the resurrection. And I’m so glad a blog reader asked links to some Easter videos because it led me to rewatch this one that I love more than I can say:
Lots more Easter videos HERE, they are all so good!
Felt so grateful to join in the worldwide fast our prophet called for today: “I invite all, including those not of our faith, to fast and pray on Good Friday, April 10, that the present pandemic may be controlled, caregivers protected, the economy strengthened, and life normalized.”
Knitted our hearts right in with all those fasting, members of our faith or not, pleading with God to “save us.” I don’t know how those prayers and that fasting power will be answered, but I do know that God is there. And as we reach up, He will hear us just as we seek to hear Him.
As far as Good Friday goes, I am so grateful that someone as unprepared for this day as I was can read something so inspired by someone else that left me in tears as I read it to my girls tonight. So I wanted to share it here as well in case, like me, your mind has been a little foggy going into Easter weekend.
That was from “Come Follow Me Daily” that is SO GOOD on Instagram. There’s more in the post from today that is so good, so go check it out HERE when you can!
And it seems like I must have really needed that quote today because my friend dropped of the extended version at my doorstep with a treat. I love this whole version so much!
Oh we all have our Fridays, that’s for sure. But I love the thought that in the darkness of our sorrow, Sunday will come. Always, Sunday will come. And that is a beautiful thing.
That was so beautiful. Thank you! Happy Easter Pothier Family x
I love that quote. Thank you for your testimony in word and action.
Oh Shawni, even though Good Friday and Easter Week is over, this was my fix for today as life goes on and we continue to Hear Him and feel peace because of Him. And knowing that somehow, Sunday will come despite the pandemic!
