…a few changes from a few years ago:Valentine’s Day is one of my very favorite days of the year. And how could it not be when it involves beautiful flowers:chocolate:candy:…and pure love. I’m sad that now that it’s over we have to take down all our love notes. Each year about a month before the big day we have an FHE where we each write down on hearts what we love about each other family member. Then we hang them around the kitchen and family room kinda like a “heart attack.” I love being reminded each day how lucky we are to share so much love. I had to take pictures of a few of my favorites:There was even a Valentine’s dance at school! What? For 4th and 5th graders?? The kids were so excited about it though, even though they ended up being a little bored walking around the cafeteria.

And I got to spend time with my favorite valentine:Now what to do with the gallons of candy the kids brought home from school??

  1. i am TOTALLY doing that with my fam next year(the hearts). i love the idea of that kind of happiness being all around us.

and i have to say this, it’s totally inapropriate and i know everyone is going to be thinking it, but i have to i’m sorry…that is a super hot picture of your husband. 🙂 see totally inapropriate. hahaha!

  2. I LOVED getting your valentine. Then I got Paul and Angela’s and then I got the Turley’s announcement…so much cuteness I could die!!! I must say that you are already enlisted to do our Christmas cards this year, so put it on your calendar. We did the heart attack ourself thing this year too. It was so funny to see what the kids came up with.

I’m laughing at Stacy’s comment about Dave. He’s my cousin, so I can say it…or is it even more inappropriate that way?

  3. I had to laugh at your post because I just wrote the bah humbug of valentines day version! I will post in tonight, when I have a chance to take a picture of the stockings. Anyway, LOVE your valentine. So cute!

Also, on a side note, my brother lives in Gilbert and I asked if he knew “shawni” and he said he knows Dave. My brother is Dave Tanner and he was best friends with Brad, who is friends with Dave (your husband…) I think? Anyway, small world.

  4. Yeah, I think he said Brad Plowman. I will have to ask him again. And on a side note, is that see’s candy I see? If they sold see’s candy here, i would like chocolate. My favorites are the ones with the sprinkles. My mouth is watering…

  5. I am coveting the See’s candy – I can tell what it is even without seeing the logo. That’s the worst part of living on the East Coast. When I was in CA last month I bought See’s Candy solid chocolate hearts for my kids & hubby for Valentine’s, and they all went nuts with excitement.
