The Best Homemade Granola With Protein

I found a new high protein granola recipe I’ve been making on repeat. You guys, it is SO GOOD.

Why I Love this High Protein Granola

I’ve tried for years to find a good granola I love at the grocery store. There are a few that are pretty good, but when I tasted this homemade one it put all the others to shame. Plus it has great protein (added with protein powder).

Delicious plus protein?

I call that a win.

If you’ve been looking for an easy high protein granola recipe, this one is simple to make and you can store it for weeks.

You can mix this granola with fruit and yogurt or just eat it plain. I actually have been loving giving it in little bags for gifts and also taking a ziplock bag full of it on trips. Dave does indeed give me a side-eye on that move, but then he’s pretty happy when I pull it out for us to eat.

When I find something I love and have made multiple times that means I must share it. I love keeping track of our most-loved recipes here on the blog.

So here we go.

  • 1 C. Powdered Goat Milk or Protein Powder I am not a goat milk girl, so I use protein powder

High Protein Granola Recipe FAQs

These are some questions I’ve had in the past, and now I’ve made this enough to experiment to know the answers. Here we go:

Can you add protein powder to granola?

Yes! Protein powder mixes easily into homemade granola I’ve learned because of this recipe. You just combine it with the dry ingredients before baking and voila! it adds a boost of protein without changing the flavor too much.

How long does homemade granola last?

Homemade granola usually lasts about 2–3 weeks in an airtight container at room temperature. You can also freeze it for longer storage.

What kind of protein powder works best in granola?

Vanilla protein powder tends to work best because it adds a little sweetness and flavor, but unflavored protein powder works well too.

Can you eat high protein granola by itself?

Absolutely. While it’s great with yogurt and fruit, it also makes a great high-protein snack on its own or packed in bags for travel. It’s a perfect little protein boost any time of day.

Enjoy!!

I’ve made this granola often ever since you shared the recipe from your sister-in-law at a family reunion!

It is so good and my family LOVES it. I usually eat it with plain greek yogurt and blueberries. YUM!
