My bags are packed and I’m heading out. Sometimes us moms have to make sacrifices and “take one for the team” when someone offers us a free cruise. Since my parents are the speakers on this Caribbean cruise they got my sisters and I some free spots, and really, who can turn that down? Dave is so excited for me to leave him with five kids he can hardly stand it (yes, that’s sarcastic). But he’s taking one for the team too and totally stepping up. Watch out because our girls are going to be sporting some great hairstyles this week!

I think these plane rides are going to do wonders for my keeping up for book clubs. I won’t know what else to do all by myself for so many hours! Seriously, this is going to be twilight zone-ish. And I haven’t spent un-interrupted hours with my sisters and parents for years and years…and they are so inspiring.

I just keep thinking about Lu’s chubby cheeks and how many times I need to kiss them to fill up until I get back. Man I’m going to miss these guys. But I think I’ll survive. I hope Dave, Josh and my great friends who are taking care of the kids while I’m gone will survive too! They are complete superstars to do this…

  2. Yeah Shawni!! I’m so happy for you! I recently spent some time with my parents and siblings without kids and it was HEAVENLY. We had conversations and bonding in those two days that would have normally taken a year occur. It’s amazing what happens in the world of no interruptions! 🙂 Have a fabulous time! Darcy

  4. Hi cute Shawni. You might not remember me but I was visiting my parents in Washington DC and saw your Christmas card. You guys are adorable! I love that you have 5 children — the same as I do and all about the same age. I saw that you blogged and decided to check it out. I blog but mine is very elementary. Yours is terrific! Isn’t it a great way to keep in touch as well as keep a super journal and scrapbook? At least we’ll have some memories. I love your photography! You are awesome! What a talent. Tell Dave “hello”. Sounds like life is good for you. Keep up the good work and hope you had fun on your cruise.

Shawni, “You’re Famous!!!” So I just moved into a new house and I’m unpacking my books for bookshelves when I came across this book called “Teaching children joy” I recognized the name Eyre from your blog (your blog is one of my favorites)I started flipping through it and sure enough it talks about YOU! Crazy!!!! I think the book was one I got from my parents house or something. It’s no wonder why you are such a cute mom and have so many great parenting ideas your parents are PROFESSIONALS!!!!!
