Kristi’s Flat Bread with Hot Honey and Ricotta

Ok. I have a very delicious recipe to share. It has been on repeat for us ever since my sister-in-law made it as one of our reunion meals and it seems selfish not to share. It is SO EASY made with regular french bread from the grocery store so you don’t even have to fuss with making bread. So if it’s just french bread do we even call it “flat bread?” I’m not sure about that. But let’s talk about this flat bread with hot honey and ricotta.

As I’ve mentioned before, my family finds all kinds of joy in reunion meals. Some of my favorite recipes have come from our reunion, including Japanese curry and lentil tacos. When my sister-in-law Kristi and her family whipped up this deliciousness this summer, I knew it would be a keeper as well.

Ok so this is how you make this dish:

All you need are these ingredients:

Oh wait, do NOT forget this hot honey drizzled on the top. It’s what makes this flatbread so delicious. Use any kind you want, one of mine is from the grocery store and one is from Trader Joes.

A delicious meal you can whip up speedy-quick but looks and tastes fancy enough to please any type of eater.
Course: Appetizer, Main Course

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf french bread just the kind from the grocery store, the lighter in texture the better
  • 1/4-1/2 c. any type of jam, depending on how sweet or savory you'd like it to be
  • 1 c. ricotta cheese
  • 1 c. sliced cherry tomatoes
  • 1 pkg. microgreens any variety
  • hot honey

Method

  1. Cut the french bread lengthwise and carve out a bit if it's pretty thick (you don't want too much bread). Butter the top generously.

  1. This looks so good! We will have to make it for a gathering soon.
If you like the spicy and sweet combo, you may like divina brand chili fig spread. It is so good on bread with Trader Joe’s chive onion cream cheese and also on the Trader Joe’s mushroom truffle flatbread if you’re ever looking for more flatbread combos. Nothing beats a quick and easy party pleasing snack!
