I love leaves.
I love the fresh, spring green ones greeting the sun as they pop from their buds. I love the fiery autumn ones that make the world deeply vivid and beautiful to look at. I love the summer ones that wave at me quietly in the heat. And I love the crispy winter ones that greet me in our driveway.
I think they are so beautiful.
me too! While living in Portland I literally think every third picture I took is of leaves.
I love your blog!
Can I purchase your pictures?
Leaves are such a metaphor for life… the birth, the change, the letting go. These photos find so much beauty in the things that some people never really look at. (And it doesn't hurt that you really are an awesome photographer!) 🙂
I can't even remember how I stumbled upon it, but I've been stalking, I mean reading, your blog for awhile and just wanted to let you know how inspiring I think you are. From the first post I read, I felt your love and passion for motherhood and for your family.
I also wanted to let you know that I sat right behind your parents (and Elder Perry) last night at the Jazz game. I just had to say something to your mom about how much I love your blog. Also your parents know my parents so I thought it wouldn't be THAT weird for me, a perfect stranger, to start talking to her. OK maybe it was weird, but I did it anyway.
Love your blog!
Shawni,
You and I have never met, but I love your blog so much that I've awarded you the "Stylish Blogger Award." Congrats! You'll need to check my blog to see what comes next for you. Thanks for all of your beautiful pictures and insights. You inspire me. Mindy

I see those leaves and I want to crunch them.
My favorite leaf thought is from the book, "All I really need to know I learned in Kindergarten:"
Behind our house is this row of tall, middle-aged, matronly maple trees, extravagantly decked out in a million leaf-sequins. And in season the sequins detach and lie about the feet of these matrons like dressing gowns they've just stepped out of in preparation for the bath of winter.
