I couldn’t be happier to say that I finished some serious deadlines I’ve been working on this last week, I’m semi up-to-date on photoshoots, my stake primary stuff hasn’t really kicked in yet and the majority of big doctor stuff is done.
So, seriously, HALLELUJAH!!
I’m coming out of my shell I’ve been buried in for a while.
And I like it out here.
I like that I get to read again with my kids at night…they beg me for it to be their reading night and make me feel like a celebrity.
I like sitting surrounded with a sewing machine, pins, fabric, pattern pieces and Elle as I help her make her Halloween outfit.
I like being able to drop stuff and take Grace to the grocery store to buy her treats for her “junk food read-a-thon” that she’s so darn excited about.
I like going on early morning runs with my husband at my side and actually going to bed the same time he does for our great pillow-talks.
I like trying to learn Coldplay’s Viva La Vida on the piano before Max does.
I like sitting with Claire doing puzzles in the morning.
I even like the challenge of trying to figure out Lu’s mood swings and working diligently on the art of distraction when she’s ready to roll on the floor in a tantrum or blow the roof off the house with her screaming.
I like doing the stuff that makes me a mom and a wife.
And I guess some serious surges of overwhelming busy-ness help me cherish it even more.
But I hope I don’t have to go back in my shell any time soon.
Cause it’s great out here.
the art of distracion… well put. Something all moms have to figure out!love all your mexico pictures. Looks like a real good time!
Let me know what distraction works best! I need some ideas to distract Lyndee from terrorizing my baby!!
Welcome back! 🙂 So glad you’re caught up and enjoying time with your family. What a wonderful feeling.
Wow! what a truly beautiful blog you have! Your holiday pictures are stunning. I’m not sure how i got here but i’m so glad i did…i’m going to treat myself to a read through your older posts if i may?
My husband has taken our 3 children for a walk so…i have coffee, bagels and your blog!
Happy sunday to you…
I stumbled upon your blog by accident a few days ago, but became intrigued and ended up spending quite a bit of time reading through your musings of family life and looking at your beautiful photos. I was happy to see in one post that you enjoyed Ida B. I happen to have a children’s novel with the same publisher. Since you mentioned how fond you are of reading to your children, you might want to look for it at your local library–the title is Me and the Pumpkin Queen. It would make for a nice story, I think, at this pumpkin filled time of the year 🙂
Anyway, just wanted to let you know I’m glad I came across your blog!
I’m so glad things are looking up. I’m sure us being off your list is a good thing. I’m so sorry we were such a pain. I won’t blame you at all if there are no photos fit for printing!!
Glad life is lightening up. I too enjoy and love all of these things. Life is a wonderful thing. I sometimes feel frustrated that we keep hearing of all of the evils of the world and perilous times that we are in….I wish to look at life with faith and hope and love. Especially within our homes….what a great great life we do have!!
Enjoy that cute baby girl. i know she enjoys you.
I just wanted to thank you for your advice on the camera lens. I have a Nikon D70 and just ordered the lens. What a great deal! I can’t wait to use it. Thanks again.
So glad to hear that you made your deadlines. Can’t wait to read the book. Thanks for understanding when I called to vent!
I enjoyed your post, Shawni 🙂 I absolutely know that feeling of coming out back to the land of the living! Some weeks I’m just too busy to even remember to enjoy the little things, which makes rediscovering them again all that more precious.
You are my mom hero.
