There are so many “little things” to post that I haven’t been able to get to lately.  Here’s the first batch:

Grace and her friends talked Elle into doing a little photo shoot for them before school started.

Claire and her friend snuck in for a couple too.
I thought they turned out pretty darn cute (I need to get an “ellephotos” watermark again…my other one got erased when I had my computer malfunctioning issues…which I’m still kinda having…).
BTW, Elle is starting to book photo shoots for the holidays so let her know if you want a spot!
Here are those cute seventh-graders on the new jr. high school orientation night.
They sure didn’t seem too nervous about that jump into a different school.
Here’s Lu with her “five-favorite-things” bag she got to share the first couple days of school:
And here is the batch of birthday party invitations she made up a couple months ago:
Let’s be reminded that her birthday isn’t until October…
 She’s just very prepared.
And I adore that about her.
We take turns with all the families in our congregation signing up to clean the church.
I got to use the cool back-pack-vacuum to clean the pews.
Dave used the big vacuum and Claire and Grace got to clean bathrooms.
They actually requested that, believe it or not.
We went to see a movie.
Which was extra special since we’re just not big movie-goers.  (Although we did see Despicable Me 2 right when it came out because we were in love with the first one, so that’s two whole movies in a year for us.  We are party animals.)
This time we went to see that Percy Jackson show (I can’t remember the name…that’s how much I loved it…) but Lucy reeeeeaaaaaaalllly wanted to see that Turbo movie instead so she and Dave saw that one at the same time.
We helped my brother move into his new, beautiful school called Learning Foundation and
Performing Arts.
Lucy usually likes to help with moves while sporting her swimsuit.
It just works for her. 🙂

These guys felt SO privileged to get to help open up and set out the brand-new text books and set up desks for the lucky kids who get to be in his class.

We are so excited for my brother and his new adventure at this new school I have heard so many wonderful things about.  I know I’m biased but I’m pretty sure Josh is a rock star teacher.
Elle gave-in to her “no-heat-on-your-hair” challenge she’s been doing for eight months and busted out the curling iron.
I think she should break that puppy out more often.

  2. Hi Shawni, I found your blog by chance and I am so glad that I did. You have so many wonderful ideas for families. We also happened to be in the same Israel group so many long years age:) Anyway, I have a question about your photography backdrop stand. I am looking for one. Any recommendations? Also is the white backdrop typically a roll of paper not fabric? Anyway, I love photography but would like to change it up.
