I’m so grateful that this is my family… …fresh from gymnastics and dinner (with a really awful white-balance setting…sorry) Oh how I love them all.

Love the little things in life… such a great example of Praising God for the time you get to just be with your family. This is our last year before our oldest heads off to college and we find ourselves enjoying the "little things" in life a lot more. Thanks for sharing!

wow – I am so impressed by your kids helping out and enjoying themselves while doing it! I need to read all your posts on having kids take responsibility around the house because not only do they not do any of those things, they are truly sniping and fighting constantly and I know its time to regroup and get down to basics here at our house.
So Sweet!! What adorable children you have. I loved seeing Max load the dishwasher…his future wife is going to LOVE you;)
Love this Shawni…especially Dave doing a little dancin'….
adorable. I love it, Shawni.
I just love this! Your family is such a joy to see. Love the dancing, helping out, and even your husband getting into it as he walked by! I pray you all have a blessed week!
My favorite is your husband dancing in the background!!!
Shawni, this just made me want to have girls even worse. thanks a bunch 🙂

What a beautiful family you have! LOVED your husband dancing in the background! What song was playing? It sounded cute!!
Wonderful family…
you're blessed.
awwwww what a great little snapshot of life and love at your house!
Very sweet…you means they don't always run around the house screaming like my Crazies???
That shows how fun a Mom you are. And seriously…such a gift you're giving them to learn how to help. My Mom did everything for us and it was really to our disadvantage even though she saw it as being a really good thing. Love it.
Ha! Super cute 🙂 do those kids make house calls?? 🙂
love, love, love this. thanks for sharing! love dave's quick, 3 second sway to the music. 🙂 i'm getting excited for your christmas card–no pressure or anything. maybe this is our year to actually send them after they arrive. hope all is well…
Yay!!!! Your family is normal – stuff on the counters, TV on in the background AND being good helpers too!
Wow, look at all of them working so willingly! How'd you get that to happen?! Love seeing a glimpse of your cute family, and love reading your blog!! Thanks for sharing!
I miss the chaos of family. Love this! Love it!
I love it…I read your blog all the time and this video is great…it gave me that feeling of when you were in elementary school and you ran into your teacher at the store… it was CRAZY thinking that they didnt live at the school…(please tell me you know what I'm talking about)it's nice to see your family alive and happy…it was like christmas morning for me…haha. Cute!
Adorable! This makes me want many more children…and that is hard to say since my 9 month old still won't sleep! Thanks for the inspiration 🙂
Hi Shawni
I recently found your blog (my mom recommended a few of your parents' helpful parenting books and I looked them up online). I also love photography and that is why your blog is so enjoyable- authentic beautiful photographs (and your sweet family stories).
This video makes me feel happy- it inspired me to turn on the music and dance in the kitchen with the people I am thankful for.
Thank you,
Rebecca
lovely atmosphere! and so good that the children are helping you!!
I love this! Did they all do this on their own initiative, or did you have to turn into Cruella DeVil, like me, to get them to help? I need to see your job chart! And tonight, I'm turning on the tunes.
My daughter walked over to see what I was watching…I let her watch and then told her it was a family doing chores and NOT FIGHTING. We seem to be doing a lot of that lately!
Can't wait to be in that kitchen in just one week!
Hey what song is that i like it!
Love this snippet of family life! Such an adorable video!
How cute is that….hope my kids are that happy to help out and love each other that much when they are bigger. Thanks for your books and your blog… can't wait to hear you at TOFW in 2 days.
I not much of a blog commenter, but I just had to say that this video made me smile. I love it.
I loved watching this Shawni…love that Max was loading the dishwasher and loved the little dance Dave did walking by…How cute is Elle..and Lucy…and Claire…and Grace! What a cute family you have!
love it. I, too, wonder what song that is and is it a video playing? Would love to know your after dinner assignments, too. Do they rotate? Have certain nights that one wipes the table and the other puts leftovers in the container or do they each always have that job? I need more after dinner help.
DARLING video Shawni! Those are the best moments ever. Hope you're doing great this week.
