I sat in a class this Christmas season and was SO touched by these words from the scriptures:

He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows (Isaiah 53:4).
He who gives beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness (Isaiah 61:3) He shall wipe away all tears (Revelation 21:4).

As I sat there, so worried about so many things, from my children to the hustle and bustle of my heart racing, to all my hopes and aspirations, and then back to my children (oh my heart carries them so heavy sometimes!) those words were like a sweet salve washing over me.

May we remember as we celebrate the Savior’s birth this Christmas that He truly came to do all those things. He can give us the oil of joy for mourning. He can wipe away all tears.

Ellie Wilson’s beautiful Angel painting, yes I post it every year, I love it so much.

And Oh how I love Him! The One who came in that little stable long ago to save us all.

May you feel His love this Christmas season.

XOXO
