Let’s talk about one great way to eat your greens. Because lots of people have asked about the “salad group” I’m in.
And you know what? It’s not even just about greens! It’s been so fun to get to know these ladies in my group better. So here we go.
What is Salad Group?
Well, it’s a group of fifteen women who take turns making fifteen salads to deliver for lunch.
If that sounds like a lot, believe me, it sounded like a lot to me at first too. Especially to a girl who has a plaque that reads “live simply” on her desk. Ha!
Last year I thought about joining but life was a little too crazy (and I read my plaque:). But this year, although life never seems to slow down, I joined. My reasoning? I have a goal to get to know more women in my area and this was a good chance.
But what I didn’t realize is that getting to know so many women better was only part of the wonder of this group. The other part, of course, is that I get some pure deliciousness dropped off on my front doorstep three times a week.
Yes, THREE TIMES. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday are salad days.
I had no idea how many amazing salads there are in this world. These ladies know salads I tell you!
How it Works
Here’s the deal. Each salad-maker signs up for two “salad days” each quarter. Holidays and summer are not on the list. Before each quarter someone signs up to be a host to serve their salad at their own house. That’s when everyone gets to socialize and also sign up for the next quarter.
I’m kicking myself I’ve never taken a photo of that group, but I will next time and come back here to post it. Some day!
Guidelines
There are some guidelines to keep us all streamlined and running smoothly:

Some answers to questions I know people will have:
- You keep all your salad containers and re-use when you’re ready for your turn to deliver.
- We have two gluten free people in our group and we just omit anything gluten in their specific salads. They have gluten-free salad dressing on hand if the dressing happens to have gluten in it.
- We all live relatively close, it only takes about 30 minutes for the delivery so it’s do-able. A LOT of work, yes. But so worth it to have that goodness dropped off on your porch three times a week.
Here are a couple of my creations:

They are Watermelon Feta salad and my Wildflower Chopped copycat. So good.
(Can you tell that sheet pan up there is owned by a cookie-making lover? Just saying…)
And a couple salads from friends I remembered to take photos of:

Yum so good!
My latest salad from last week:

It’s a Cubby’s kale copycat..I’m getting the recipe prepped to share soon.
Anyway, there you go, just a little extra way to add some greens to your day…AND get to know awesome new women: start a salad group!
Happy Tuesday…TOMORROW is the day.
