We had to leave Lucy’s huge bandage on her foot for 48 hours, and we almost wondered if she really got that toe removed with how happy she was. She kicked around just like nothing ever happened. She’s pretty un-phased by the whole thing.
You would have thought it was Christmas morning with the excitement from the kids when we finally said “yes,” to their constant question, “can we look at Lucy’s foot yet?” They were in complete awe. I must admit I kind of got grossed out…there are LOTS of stitches and even now it’s still pretty swollen. But I’m sure it’ll be fine in the long run. It’s weird but I’m seriously kind of going through toe withdrawals. I miss that she had that extra toe.
