One more note about training (and to move that semi-gross picture down the screen just a tad).

My sister is a trainer.

She somehow came with this innate ability to help train people to be the best they can be. She has trained various educators and career folks before, and now she (alongside some other outstanding women) trains Mothers through her Power of Moms retreats. I loved the one I went to back here, and some day I’ll be going to another one, but I wanted to make sure people know that there are two more fabulous motherhood retreats coming up…one on either side of the country. There is something so rejuvenating about having a group of like-minded mothers gather together to figure out how to do their job more deliberately. I’m still feeling inspired from way back in June.

  1. Thanks for sharing the link. The idea of a retreat is so appealing to me, and I'd love to eventually become a Trainer. Sounds wonderful!

  2. What a great idea! I would love to do this. Your mom talked a little about it at education week. I was in town for my brother's wedding and didn't leave until Tuesday morning so I went to education week on Monday. I LOVED the classes I went to that your mom and dad taught (your mom's name was not listed on one of the classes, but your dad didn't let her get off the hook–I'm so glad, she is wonderful!). I have only recently stared reading your blog, and just realized today that they were your parents. Doesn't surprise me a bit. What an amazing family you all are.

I want to start the family legal system/economy/traditions with my kids, but I am feeling a little overwhelmed. I'm hoping that sending them off to school tomorrow will give me some time to read more about it and get prepared to implement it. Wish me luck!!
