I LOVE Franklin books. You know the ones about Franklin the turtle?

Claire’s just getting into reading them and reminding me how much I love them. There’s always a cute message. I think my fav. is Franklin’s Secret Club:It inspired us to start our own secret club.

Back in the trees.

We made a cool art project.
And we have our own “secret” handshake too. It started out with a kiss at the end, but that was modified since we wanted to include everyone like Franklin did…and, well, kissing may not be that great at the end of a handshake where everyone is included.

We’re trying to incorporate service into the the club. And some more crafty stuff…we’ll see what these girls come up with next.

  1. I loved your book so much! What a fun thing to have written with your mom. ( I went to Indian Hills with Charity and I remember playing over at your parents house all the time) My husband gave it to me for Mother's Day and I couldn't put it down! I love the ideas you have and the things you do with you kids. I was wondering if you would ever post about your families favorite meals, or special snacks that you've made. I love to cook for my little family and I loved tried and true recipes. You mentioned that you wanted to teach your kids this summer how to make new dinners and it just intrigued me to know what. Thanks!

  2. I love the franklin books too. My favorite in the birthday party one where his parents make all the fun activities in their yard so all his friends can come and it won't cost a fortune. I have 4 daughters and a son like you but my son is the baby. I love reading your blog and all the fun things you do with your kids. It inspires me to do more fun things too. Thanks c:

  3. Love it!! We went to Bahama Bucks yesterday and the girls loaded up on those little paper umbrella things. We decided to make a fairy garden with them so we brought them home and saved them. I'm always game for outdoor, cute, fun and girly activities with my kids! Love yours♥

Hi, I have been following your blog for months now and absolutely love it – you are so inspiring! I am a Catholic stay at home mother of four in Phoenix.

I know you are on vacation and I hate to bug you but I am in desperate need of the number of the man who painted your kitchen cabinets. We are in the midst of a kitchen remodel and are looking for someone to paint cabinets, we want them to look professional while watching our budget, and yours look beautiful – our project has been stalled until we find someone. This is difficult with four children!

I would be so greatful to you if you could write me back and let me know if you can get me his name and number.

Thanks SOOO much…you don't know how much it would help me and how much I would appreciate receiving his name and number!

Hope you're having a great trip!!

  5. That secret handshake idea has been so fun! Only my oldest daughter has really gotten in to it, but she asked for her own personal handshake, and there's a little jump at the end. Thanks for the idea! Hope all your traveling went well. It was great to get to hang out with you a bit at the Retreat. We got to have Saren's family here for the weekend, and it was wonderful.

We've got some great Mind Org. edits coming out soon, too, so I'll send them your way….
