When we put away Thanksgiving and pulled out Christmas, I had Claire write my favorite Christmas saying on our little board:
It’s from Matthew 6:33 where it says “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” And it’s something I like to keep close to my heart this time of year when things get a little nutty. Really, what am I seeking? Why am I doing whatever it is I’m doing? Am I off-center about what this whole season is all about? I love to try to recenter each time I glance at this little reminder. Because boy howdy do I ever need the reminder as my mind keeps trying to splinter in 482 different directions.
Because really, it’s all about the beauty of that tiny baby who came to the world to save us all.
I love this new short little film the church has put out that we snuggled up with my parents and watched last Sunday. There is something about the light and the emotion and the realness of it all that reminds me so poignantly of the true meaning for this celebration we are heading into.
Thank you so much for the beautiful film. A wonderful reminder of the truth of this season. Jesus is born!!!!
I really needed to see this film this morning.
With just that part of the quote (and not being well-versed in the bible), my first thought was “She must be a huge fan of Kanye West.” You know, because he shortens his first name to “Ye” a lot. Hah!
Oh ha! I didn’t know that but that’s funny 🙂
