So far, Lucy is the only one we’ve worked on our schoolwork filing system (here) this summer.
I love love love going through all the work my kids have done each year.  I love all the brain power and growth it represents.  What actually makes it home at the end of the school year sure dwindles as they get older and older…most of the stuff from high school they just chuck before they even get home.
But there were some gems I wanted to share from Lucy’s stuff.  Because man, I love her stuff.  Most is her school “journal” and creative writing.  I think most of it can speak for itself.

From the Thanksgiving turkey’s point of view:

I love the notes back and forth from her darling teacher:

…and I guess from Bo’s point of view:

(Good idea on this hiccups 🙂

Thank you, Lu, for sharing your light in your writing!

  1. Loved peeking inside Lucy's notebooks. It warms my teacher heart (even though I'm retired) to see student writing. It makes me so happy to see that Writing stayed her favorite activity from the beginning of fifth grade to the end. Keep writing, Lucy! I loved Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's Library. One of my favorite middle grade reads is Hattie Big Sky by Kirby Larson. I hope you'll give it a try.
