Welp, our 2026 Eyre family reunion is in the books.
Phew is what I have to say about that! Because our family was in charge this year. And I’ll tell you, maneuvering that many people for a reunion is no joke.
But it turned out pretty great I have to say, thanks to traditions already in place as well as a whole slew of inspiration on this Instagram post.
It is going to take me a little bit to organize photos that my family is sending into our 2026 google album, so for now let’s just talk about sailing.
Because my awesome brother-in-law agreed to take us after all the reunion hoopla was over.
My brothers and a whole slew of kids took off for their annual camping-in-Oregon adventure trip.
And all was quiet and well in the world.
So we took off to sail and celebrate.
And here’s my question:
How many people can you fit on a little sailboat?
And the answer is: a lot.
Another question: what if there’s no wind?
The answer to that one is have an awesome sailor who knows how to use a motor. Ha!
And soak in all that gorgeous beauty all around.
Bear Lake was killing me with beauty more than ever this year.
We all jumped in and it was the perfect way to cool off after a hot, hot Bear Lake day.
Grace’s boyfriend had come for a day or two and it was fun to have him there with us too. Especially since Max, Abby, the little girls and Carson had left by this time. (And Claire didn’t get to come since she is doing an internship in NYC at the moment.)
Wind or no wind, the aesthetics of sailing does something for your soul.
It was a perfect way to wrap up the reunion on that blue, blue beauty.
