For some reason, this post never got posted from Bear Lake.

Sunsets are sacred at Bear Lake.

Which is weird, because it’s not like they are sparse and hard to come by…colors stretch across the sky practically every night.

But man alive, they are gorgeous.

Sometimes we sneak down to the beach after the little kids are in bed to watch the sky shift into deeper and deeper brilliant hues as the sun sinks behind the mountains across the lake.
It takes our breath away.

And when it’s an extra calm night, we go down to “ski on the gold.”

Or “row on the gold:”
(Doesn’t the water look cool up there above? Thanks, Elle, for pointing that out.)

We soak it in ’til the very last drop.…because it’s hard to tear yourself away from that beauty.

  1. Oh geez. Those pictures literally make me ache. Bear Lake sunsets are magical, they really are. Great photos, girl.

Oh, and that picture of you and your daughter – you really don't look much older than she does! Beautiful girls, both of you.
