I got to share the “scripture of the day” on the We Believe App today.

Man, have I mentioned how much I love that app? Just a short little verse every day with a devotional to ponder.

Well, they assigned me a scripture about repentance this time around. And I LOVED it, because that’s been my biggest thing I’ve taken from the Book of Mormon this time around.

To me, repentance, or “turning” ourselves to God gives us soft hearts.

And when we have soft hearts, our relationships are better. Our confidence is stronger. Our willingness to see from other’s perspectives is fortified. It just all works together.

I think that sometimes we think “repentance” means punishment, penalty, or payment for sin…or even anger from God. But in actuality I think it’s actually just softening our hearts to a God who, in the scriptures, is continually opening His arms, arms extended, stretched out, encircling.

In Greek “repentance” is “to change,” and in Hebrew it is “to turn around.” So I love the painting in the middle below of what I feel is the “repentance stance.”

Turning to God, and changing our hearts in the process.

The things we do wrong, and the mistakes we make can cause pain, but repentance is what can relieve that pain.

Isn’t that just such a beautiful thing?

I’ll let my Instagram story tell the rest of story:

…and the questions from WeBelieve.

You can find and listen to the devotional HERE.

Sending love this Saturday evening!!
