Spring is in full bloom around these parts.
The birds are chirping and the trees branches have plump little green bulbs waiting to burst out to greet the sun.
Which means my allergies are in full swing once again, but hey it’s perfect hiking season.  And I’ll take that.
The day after Lu and I did our 4th grade hike (last post) Claire and I went with some friends on another kind of hike…a tougher one…to the “Wave Cave.”
I’ve posted pictures before of this one, which made Claire want to go, so get ready for some silhouette pics 🙂

Love being with that girl of mine.
Surrounded by beauty like this:
And by our good friends too, full of great conversation.
These are the three musketeers of soccer this year and following their early-morning soccer game they were ready hike through some desert beauty.

 My favorite desert plant:

My favorite saguaro cactus, all plumped up ready for spring:

Did I mention these girls were excited about the silhouette pics?

They had several poses all ready to go when we got up there, sweating and huffing and puffing…I don’t think allergies and hikes mix well…

(Gotta get the moms in for one…)

…or two…

Then back to the girls…

I love where we live.

  1. Sometimes you sure make me miss Arizona! 🙂 Hey, I just sent my son, Chandler, on his mission last month, and got to thinking about your family and "we do hard things". Sending out a missionary is definitely a hard thing, lol. I have designed a sign to sell in my shop that says that phrase, and would love to send you one! I'm totally not asking for an advertisement, you're family just inspired the sign, and I thought you might like to have one. 🙂 I can send you a picture of the design, if you'd like, just let me know, and have an amazing day! 1. That's so nice Ashley! I checked out your shop, looks like you have beautiful things! I'd love a sign if you want to send one. I'm so grateful for that good reminder that was passed on to me that we can do hard things, even when it seems like we can't. "Whether you think you can, or think you can't, you're right!" I have to remind not only my kids about this, but myself too! Thanks for thinking of me 🙂
