I cannot begin to express how it felt yesterday to see this each time I checked my email on my phone:
The list went on and on.
I got teary-eyed over and over and over again. This event and cause are so important for Lucy and our family (and so many others suffering from vision loss) that it makes me so emotional, especially to have so many grouping together to help with something so big and so good.
I don’t even know how to thank everyone enough. We have exceeded our goal and are making great strides to help Lucy and so many others who are fighting against blindness.
Please do not let the fact that we have exceeded our goal stop you from coming to donate if you haven’t had a chance yet. You can still click here for our vision walk page and click the “support Shawni” (although it should say “support Lucy” 🙂 gray tab at the top on the left. Every little bit helps.
Please remember to click over to my sister’s Power of Mom’s Motherhood Retreat Give-Away she is doing to help with the cause. That’s such a big deal because those retreats are so very valuable not only to the mothers who attend them, but to their families who benefit so much from a mother who returns so rejuvenated and inspired. There are retreats coming up in Palo Alto, Las Vegas and Park City this spring (check her blog for more info.) I sure wish I could be there. Thank you so much for doing that, Sar.
Also be sure to click over to my friend Macy’s blog who is doing another give-away as well. She’s giving away a copy of A Mother’s Book of Secrets
and The Entitlement Trap: How to Rescue Your Child with a New Family System of Choosing, Earning, and Ownership. Wow, thank you so much for doing that Macy.
Both of those give-aways end Friday so click over there quick to enter!
Thank you, thank you, thank you for all the nice blog posts people wrote and linked in yesterday too. Please keep them coming if you’d like to join in the cause.
I feel heavy with love and appreciation for so many today.
I cannot possibly leave enough love and thank yous here.
All my love,
Shawni
Wow! What a blessing! I wish I could attend the vision walk! Your fight to help Lucy and those like her is so inspiring!
A few years ago Marie turned me on to your blog and I'm so glad she did. Your story with Lucy has always touched me and brought me great comfort as I now have a child with special needs.
Good luck this weekend!
Also, this whole week your posts have not been showing up in my google reader. I don't know if it is just me or all your feed readers. But I thought you'd might like to know because I'd hate for these great Vision Walk awareness posts not to be seen!
Amy
For some unknown reason your blog isn't showing up in my blogreader anymore. Thought I'd let you know in case there's anything you can do on your end or if others have the same problem.
same problem with the google reader. i cried when i saw "claire pothier" show up in that scrolling list of donors on the vision walk page. there is a vision walk in sf june 2!
So happy about this. Give Lucy a hug from us!
