Shelley's Everyday Flatbread

Course Side Dish

Ingredients
  

  • 2 1/4 tsp. active dry yeast (or use one packet you can buy at the grocery store)
  • 1 C. warm water (tap hot)
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. oil
  • 2 C. flour (up to 3 if too wet)

Instructions
 

  • Simply mix ingredients together in a bowl.
  • Let rise for 15-30 minutes (if you have time...not even necessary!)
  • Roll out, and score for breadsticks
  • Bake at 450 degrees for 5-7 minutes until golden on top.
  • Spread with melted garlic butter. We also sprinkle with garlic salt

Notes

I have used this recipe on so many occasions in so many ways!
You can add parmigiana, you can use it as a base for pizza dough (so many varieties with that!). You can even use it for a "dessert pizza and spread with Nutella, strawberries and/or banana slices. Yum.
All my girls have this recipe memorized and have taken turns being the "flat bread expert" when it comes to dinner prep.
