Joy to the World, the Lord has come.
This is my favorite nativity painting.
I love the faces of adoration, the thought of those Heavenly hosts rejoicing.  The real-ness of Joseph’s worried/relieved face, the beauty of the realization that we can all shout Hosanna!

Because He came.  That tiny baby wrapped in swaddling clothes lying in a manger.

And because He came, He changed the world.

How silently, how silently,
The wondrous gift is given.
So God imparts to human hearts,
The blessings of His heaven.
We hear the Christmas angels,
The great glad tidings tell,
O come to us, abide with us,
The Lord Emmanuel.

No ear may hear His coming,
But in this world of sin,
Where meek souls will receive Him still,
The dear Christ enters in.
Merry Christmas.

  1. That's my favorite too! I feel like it suggests that maybe all of us, all the angels in heaven, were allowed to pass by and see the event! I love how some are crying and as they pass they are singing ❤
