Now that Max is about ready to try out for the high school volleyball team, I better wrap up his season of club volleyball that ended before Christmas.

He sure learned a lot.

I had to be out of town for the first few tournaments so when I finally got to go watch I was amazed at the improvement.

Their team wasn’t the best in the league, but they sure learned a bunch.

I loved having a day to just sit and watch in the midst of the hustle-bustle of the Christmas season.

Obviously so did my girls:

…especially when they got to perch themselves on the top of the bleachers with McDonalds no less.
…and Lucy didn’t so much watch the games as she did color her little heart out:
I loved to watch Max’s positive support from the sidelines:

And his hops on his blocks:

Wow he’s getting so good at those.

Elle had a tennis tournament the same day so we snuck out early to go catch the second half of hers and left these boys to finish off the tournament.

They were a little discouraged and I figured the ending wouldn’t be what they hoped, but then my friend sent me these:
That’s the only trouble having so many kids…you just can’t be there for everything.

Thank goodness for technology so we can see things we can’t be there for.I’m so proud of this boy.

On to tennis…
Elle played up a level and won the whole thing.

Maybe it was because of her cheering section?
They sure had fun on the sidelines.

I made them pose with their “medals” that night.
They love me when I make them do things like that:) But hey, that was a big day to be captured.

How I love these two teenagers.

  1. Congratulations! So fun for both of your kids! Sports are such a fun addition to any childhood.

I'd love to know how you navigate Sunday play, especially with club. We are in So Cal, and it's tricky in all sports. And way more tricky than when I was playing a few years ago….

  2. I know exactly what you mean shawni..having 5 children myself, I feel like I'm always running from one thing to another during school terms….I'm sooooooo happy it's holidays here now….

  3. If anybody knows about the story where a woman's husband had a stroke or something and became bipolar afterwords where they had to sell all of their stuff, could you please share where you found it from? I'd like to share it with a friend but I don't where to find it! Thanks. 🙂

  4. I have an unrelated question for you Shawni. You say you always carry your DSLR around with you, or your point and shoot. I'm in the market for a cute bag to hold my camera that doesn't look like a camera bag; more like a purse. I'm curious to know what equipment/purse/bag you use to carry around your camera when you are out running errands or traveling.

  5. LOVE IT! Congrats to your them! My Boys are crazy about starting the baseball season last year we did pretty good. My oldest won his Division Championship & my younger son was in the Championship. Love to see how they light up playing what they love.
